The application works on all popular Windows platforms and it can be installed in just a few seconds. It doesn't require any special tools or services and it doesn't use a significant amount of disk space, RAM or processing power. What's more, RestStop is offered completely free of charge.

The software is already configured, so running it on your computer is sufficient. It works quietly in the background, counting down to your next break. Once the countdown hits zero, its system tray icon will start blinking and a sound will be played as well. To give you an idea of how much you have left until your next break, the system tray icon is made to look like an hour glass, which gradually runs out as time passes.

Hovering with the mouse cursor over the tray icon will reveal the time you've been active for. This statistic is not the only reason RestStop keeps track of your activity. The software will automatically pause the countdown if it doesn't detect any activity, so you won't end up taking a break immediately after a previous break.

The work interval, break duration, as well as the reminder interval can be adjusted on a small configurations panel, which can be accessed through the same system tray icon. Additionally, you can set the application to show notifications and reminders and select different reminder and rest stop sounds.
